Conducted in 2001, this survey has interesting and some very funny findings:

1 – Men who organize their SOCK drawer had sex three times less per month compared to men who did not organize their sock drawer.

2 – Male sock organizers were five times more likely to cook a romantic dinner for their girlfriend or spouse compared to men who don’t organize their socks.

3 – Couples who have closet organizers ARGUED three times more per month than couples who do not have closet organizers.

4 – The top five items men look for in their homes were clean socks, remote control, wedding album, car KEYS and their driver’s license.

5 – For women, the top five items were a favorite pair of shoes, child’s toy, wallet, LIPSTICK and the remote control.

6 – Only 11% of respondents knew where their social security card was located.

7 – Registered Republicans were three times more likely to color code their T-shirt DRAWERS than registered Democrats.

8 – Registered Republicans were three times as likely to organize their closets as compared to registered Democrats.

9 – Democrats were five times as likely to color code their FILES at work compared to Republicans.

10 – People who regularly watch “Survivor” were four times as likely to fold their underwear than viewers of “Friends.”

11 – Men who have a silverware TRAY were more likely to watch “Survivor” over “Friends” than men who didn’t have a silverware tray.

12 – Men who regularly watch “Ally McBeal” were five times more likely to own a label maker compared to men who don’t watch “Ally McBeal.”

13 -Women who watch the HBO show “Oz” were five times as likely to consider themselves DISORGANIZED as women who don’t watch the show.

14 -People who own a shower organizer were three times more likely to regularly watch “The Sopranos” than people who don’t own a shower organizer.

15 – Sixty-five percent of people who file their tax returns EARLY claimed to ball their socks, while 54% of people who file their tax returns on time or late claimed to fold their socks.

16 -People who file their tax returns early were six times more likely to fudge some NUMBERS on their return compared to people who turn them in on time or late.

17 – Of the people who regularly watch “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” 18% keep their BOOKS organized in a bookcase, while 26% keep their books stacked on their dresser and 56% stack their books on the floor.

18 – People from New York were twice as likely to own a compact disc CABINET compared to people living in Chicago, while people living in Philadelphia were the least likely group to own a compact disc cabinet.

19 – New York Knicks fans were five times more likely to have a MAID organize their “stuff” compared to Chicago Bulls fans.

20 – Sixty-seven percent of women who color code their files at work exercised regularly, while only 21% of women who have no filing SYSTEM at work regularly exercised.

21 – Women who color code their linen closets report spending more time with their friends than women who do not color code their linen closets.

22 – Women who own a dish drainer were three times as likely to make more MONEY than their husbands compared to women who do not own a dish drainer

23 – Men who spend time organizing their home office were more likely to spend time playing with their CHILDREN than men whose home office is in disarray.

24 – Families who hang their coats on a coat tree in their home were three times more likely to have DINNER together five nights per week than families without a coat tree in their homes.

25 – Men spend an average of 1 hour and 20 minutes per week looking for the REMOTE control, compared to women who spend an average of 7 minutes per week looking for the remote.

26 – People who were surveyed said, on average, they spend 6 minutes looking for their KEYS in the morning.

27 – Married men were four times more likely to leave their pajamas on the floor in the morning compared to single men.

28 – Women with shoe racks were seven more times likely to be on TIME for work than women without shoe racks.

29 – Women were four times as likely as men to organize their compact discs by genre compared to men. Thirty-two percent of women surveyed said that they ALPHABETIZED their compact disc collection.

30 – Men were three times as likely to cook dinner if they own a spice rack than if they did not own a spice rack.

31 – Men who own a Palm Pilot were four times as likely to FORGET their spouse’s birthday compared to men who don’t own a Palm Pilot.
